What is a medium-voltage dry-type transformer?

A dry-type (air-cooled) transformer with a primary above 1000V — commonly 4160V class — supplied as a core & coil for indoor installation, typically for large commercial and industrial services.

What does AA / AA-FA mean?

AA is the self-cooled rating. With the optional fan package the same unit carries a higher forced-air (AA-FA) rating — about a third more capacity from the same footprint.
